چکیده

Abstract Amid widespread occurrence of herbicide-resistant weeds in the United States, use PRE herbicides and cover crops have resurged once again as important strategies for weed management cropping systems. The objective this experiment was to evaluate length soil residual control from soybean detrimental impact these on crop species using field treated greenhouse bioassays. Greenhouse bioassays were conducted experiments 2018 2019 Arlington Lancaster, WI. consisted imazethapyr, chlorimuron-ethyl, cloransulam-methyl (acetolactate synthase [ALS] inhibitors); metribuzin (photosystem II [PS II] inhibitor); sulfentrazone, flumioxazin, saflufenacil (protoporphyrinogen oxidase [PPO] acetochlor, S -metolachlor, dimethenamid-P, pyroxasulfone (very long-chain fatty acid [VLCFA] a nontreated control. (depth, 0 10 cm) sampled at 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 d after treatment (DAT). Palmer amaranth giant foxtail (weeds), radish cereal rye (cover crops) used bioindicators herbicide levels soil. Bioassay results showed extended with sulfentrazone pyroxasulfone; observed -metolachlor. Chlorimuron-ethyl most injurious shortly application, respectively, but minimal injury samples collected DAT, indicating fall-seeded southern Wisconsin can be compatible. These support growers practitioners selection effective reduced crops, altogether leading more effective, diverse, sustainable programs.

Efficacy of Preemergence and Postemergence Herbicides for Controlling Common Purslane

Common purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) can be problematic in thin turf, along sidewalks and drives, and especially during turfgrass establishment. Little published research exists evaluating herbicides that will control purslane and are also labeled for turfgrass. Thus, our objective was to evaluate the efficacy of preemergence (PRE) or postemergence (POST) herbicides labeled for use in turf f...

Interaction of fensulfothion and phorate with preemergence herbicides on soybean parasitic nematodes.

The herbicides alachlor, linuron, vernolate, and metribuzin were applied to plots treated with the nematicide fensulfothion or the insecticide phorate and planted to soybean in two locations in North Carolina. In 1976 treatment with fensulfothion + alachlor or vernolate, phorate + alachlor or metribuzin resulted in greater nematode population densities than no treatment, or treatment with fensu...

Field and greenhouse experiments were conducted during 2005 and 2006 at Stoneville, MS, to determine control of ragweed parthenium with several preemergence (PRE) and postemergence (POST) herbicides registered for use in corn, cotton, peanut, rice, and soybean. Reduction of Pesticide Pollution in Agricutural Soils by Using Controlled Release Formulations: Efficacy and Persistence Studies

The application rates for conventional herbicide formulations are generally greater than the recommended dosage, in order to overcome losses from degradation, leaching, volatilization, and sorption during the time needed for weed control. All these factors have encouraged the development of controlled release formulations (CRFs), which can reduce herbicides levels in the environment since less ...
